David Sasser


Mr. Sasser joined the firm in 2011 following ten years of local government service. Prior to that, he was in private practice from 1984 to 2000. Mr. Sasser’s practice concentrates on advising, representing, and training local government officials and entities throughout the state, with emphasis on governance issues, employment law, governmental operations, liability, law enforcement liability and litigation.
  • Served as loss control attorney for Idaho Counties Risk Management Program (ICRMP).
  • Served as a Police Officer in Reno, Nevada, and as Deputy Sheriff in Sacramento County, California.
  • Served as Legal Liaison Officer for Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.
  • Served as Police Legal Advisor for Boise Police Department, Idaho Sheriff’s Association, and Idaho Chiefs of Police Association.
  • Served as Deputy City Attorney for City of Garden City.
  • Member of Legal Advisor’s Committee of International Association of Chiefs of Police and Legal Officer’s Section of National Sheriff’s Association.
  • Serves as Trainer for numerous Academies at Peace Officer Standards & Training and at Idaho State University Law Enforcement Department.
  • Juris Doctorate, McGeorge School of Law, University of Pacific 1981; Bachelor of Commercial Science—Accounting Major, Benjamin Franklin University (now merged with George Washington University) 1972.
