Lynnette L. McHenry
Ms. McHenry joined the firm in 2010 after 16 years of local government service.
Her practice concentrates on representing local governments throughout the state,
with an emphasis on general governance issues, employment law, planning and zoning
issues, administrative procedures, public records, open meetings, law enforcement
liability and contracts.
- Former Loss Control Attorney for Idaho Counties Risk Management Program (ICRMP),
a member-owned and governed property and casualty insurance program created exclusively
for Idaho local governments with more than 750 members. 2000-2010.
- Served as a Nez Perce County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, as well as its Chief Deputy
Prosecutor, handling criminal as well as civil matters.
- Member of the Idaho State Bar Reasonable Accommodations Committee.
- Member of the Government Law Section of the Idaho State Bar.
- Frequent lecturer and trainer for Idaho Association of Highway Districts, Idaho
Association of County Engineers and Road Supervisors, Idaho Association of Fire
Districts, Idaho Association of Counties, Association of Idaho Cities, Police Officer
Standards & Training Academies, Idaho State Bar Association, Idaho Association of
Prosecuting Attorneys and Idaho Counties Risk Management Program.
- Her specialties include all aspects of local government law, including employment
law (the American with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Fair
Labor Standards Act, Harassment and Discrimination in the Workplace), general governance
issues, planning and zoning issues, administrative procedures, public records, open
meetings, law enforcement liability and contracts.
- Serves as a Board Member for the Morley-Nelson Parent-Teacher Organization; Team
Captain for Race for the Cure.
- Recipient of McNichols Moot Court Competition Best Brief Award and the Charles Darling
Scholarship and served as an Honor Court Justice, UI College of Law 1993-94.
